Alquant, a Swiss fintech and boutique quant asset manager headquartered in Vaud, has appointed Alexis Dawance and Nicolas Oltramare to its board of directors as it continues to expand its offering and prepare for the launch of a new absolute return fund for Swiss investors.

Founded in 2018 as the first fintech spin-off from EPFL, Alquant combines quantitative research, technology, and regulated asset management to deliver innovative strategies and solutions across the full investment lifecycle, from research to execution to distribution. Today, the company serves more than 50 institutional clients and is growing rapidly with the introduction of new strategies and technology solutions such as its Finlens platform.

Alexis Dawance adds more than 20 years of investment expertise across alternative and thematic strategies. After starting his career at Lehman Brothers, he managed funds at Global-Cap, Mirante Fund Manager, and Bellevue Asset Management. He currently serves as Partner at 6T Asset Management, specializing in long/short equity and global macro investments.

Nicolas Oltramare, is a Swiss entrepreneur with extensive international experience in finance and emerging markets. He began his career at UBS before spending a decade in investment banking with Deutsche Bank. He later co-founded and led PBS Privat Bank Schweiz AG until its sale to Credit Suisse Group in 2002, and since 1996 has been CEO of Hamberg AG, a Zurich-based consultancy and real estate firm. From 2013 to 2018 he served on the Board of Directors of Vontobel Holding AG and Bank Vontobel AG, followed by a role on the bank’s Advisory Council until 2024. Mr. Oltramare also serves on the board of Stramongate SA, the advisory board of SpinetiX SA, and supports several charitable foundations.

"We are delighted to welcome Nicolas and Alexis to our board. Their deep expertise across banking and asset management will help us accelerate our mission to bring modern quantitative solutions to institutional investors," said Guillaume Bourquenoud, CEO of Alquant.

With this strengthened governance, Alquant continues to position itself as a Swiss innovation-driven player in quantitative asset management, preparing to launch a CHF absolute return fund built on proprietary quant strategies.
